Introduction

     Food is one of the basic needs of humans. It gives energy to our body and maintains the immune system. It consists of many components: carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, calcium, and fiber. Eggs, milk, meat, fish, and pulses are protein-rich foods. Fruits and green vegetables are vitamin-rich foods. Oil, ghee, butter, and groundnut are fat-rich foods. In everyday life, food is very important to being healthy and active. Healthy food will reduce the risk of physical health problems, but fast food raises the risk of obesity, high blood pressure, and heart attack. In 2024, people will like to eat the dishes of biriyani, naan, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and Momos. Pizza is the most popular food in the world. It is yummy to eat 😋, and we can enjoy its flavor with each bite.


History Of Food

    In the Stone Age, men hunted animals and fish by using stone tools like bows, arrows, spears, and axes. They ate raw meat, seeds, fish, eggs, grasses, berries, and nuts. Humans start to cook food by using fire and stones, then store the food in clay pots. In the olden days, humans used two methods of cooking: roasting and grilling. Then, man learned to boil food in vessels. Our ancestors ate natural food by collecting fruits and vegetable materials like roots, tubers, grains, and seeds. Later, they learned to preserve food items with salt.

     In early middle age, men eat bread, gruel, oats, barley, and porridge. Egyptians started to grow wheat to make bread, and wild birds and species of fattened poultry were eaten by them. Wheat, rice, and barley are grown in the Neolithic period. Then, the people started to harvest the spices like turmeric, mustard, and cardamom. In the 1800s, people used the icebox to keep food fresh. The history of food includes the growth of agriculture, culture, tradition, and industrialization.

    Healthy food is very important for a happy life. It will boost your happy hormones and improve your memory and concentration. It will also protect you from stress. Food has the power to change your mind and body. Apples, avocados, strawberries, watermelon, dark chocolate, coffee, and bananas-these food items have dopamine. So, it will boost the happy hormones and help reduce stress. It will also strengthen the immune system, improve skin health, and decrease cancer risk. Vegetables, such as spinach, cabbage, and radishes, increase your energy and help you stay active. 

    When we consume these healthy foods, it improves our mood and makes us happier. Avoid unhealthy foods like burgers, chips, sugary breakfast cereals, and flavored yogurt to stay happy. Food brings culture, family, friends, and people closer together. They express their love by sharing their food and giving it to others. They add aromatic ingredients like onions, garlic, mint, curry leaves, and fresh herbs. So, it has the perfect balance of flavors-spicy, bitter, sour, salty, and sweet. Samosas is the most popular food made from potatoes, flour, green peas, and onions. Pani puri is a favorite and famous food in India, it is yummy and crunchy to eat.

     Hyderabad biriyani is a delicious dish in Telangana, and it is made with meat, rice, ghee, carrots, peas, and various spices. It smells so good and tastes good to eat. Pav bhaji is famous in Maharashtra; it is made from chopped onions, vegetables, garlic, tomatoes, cabbage, and cauliflower and served with soft buns. It is nutritious and healthy to eat. People enjoy these delicious traditional Indian foods.

Food With Benefits

     Millet khichdi is a tasty and nutritious food. It was made with millet, moong dal, ghee, vegetables, cumin, ginger, and asafoetida. It was served with ghee and pickles. Soak the millets for 30–35 minutes. Take a cooker and add oil, cumin seeds, onions, vegetables, salt, and fry them. Then take the millets and put them in the cooker. After this, add 4 cups of water and whistle for 3 whistles.

     Now the dish is ready. Serve it with curd or pickles. This dish is delicious, but at the same time, it is healthy and nutritious for our bodies. Millets are rich in fiber, protein, potassium, and vitamins. It is helpful to promote healthy digestion and regulate the blood sugar levels. It also maintains a healthy weight and reduces cholesterol levels.
